The 21st Century Skills Club (ASES) Program provides FREE supervised activities after school for K-5 students attending Vivian Banks Charter School.  The 21st Century Skills Club is funded through a state grant (ASES). The program operates every day school is in session, from dismissal time until 6:00pm.  All students are expected to attend daily until 6:00pm.  The program follows the regular school calendar and is closed for school holidays and breaks. Early registration is highly recommended as space will fill up fast.

The ASES Program provides a fun, safe stimulating environment for students! Studies show that participation in the ASES Program increases students’ attachment to their schools, improves academics, and provides a safe environment for students.

Students will participate in the following activities as part of the 21st Century Skills Club:

  • Enrichment opportunities that support creativity and innovation in conjuction with the Bonsall Education Foundation.
  • Daily homework assistance that reinforces critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Opportunities for increased communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Teacher led interventions utilizing state of the art technology platforms.
  • Heath and nutrition through structured opportunities for physical education and development.

The ASES Program is available to students on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited number of students who can be served.  In order to meet the education code of the grant that funds ASES we must adhere to the principles of this grant which stipulates that priority must be given to students who stay the full duration of time in ASES; this means five days/week until 6:00PM. Furthermore, if a child checks out before 4:30 their attendance does not count. Please keep in mind the attendance is monitored closely via computer scanning, and students who fail to meet the attendance requirements may be subject to disenrollment.
