What is Expanded Learning?
“Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession
learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and
physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning
experiences.
 
 
The Vivian Banks Charter School Expanded Learning Opportunities Program includes:
 
 
                  • After School Enrichment (ASES): August 16, 2023 - June 7, 2024. Dismissal until 6 PM.
 
 
                  • Winter Camp 2024 – January 2,3,4,5,8 – 8am-5pm
                  • Presidents' Week Camp 2024: February 19-23, 2024 8am-5pm
                  • Spring Break Camp 2024: March 25-29, 2024; 8am – 5pm
                  • Summer Camp 2024: June 10-June 28, 2024 (No Camp – July 19th, 2024);
 
Our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Plan Guide was approved at the BUSD School Board Meeting on June 29, 2021.
 
Student Eligibility for free ELO-P/ASES Enrollment
 
                  • Students enrolled at VBCS in TK-5th grade.
                  • Students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, as determined by the Household Income.
                  • Students classified as Foster Youth. 
                  •  Students experiencing homelessness.
