Mission & Goals

Vivian Banks Charter School, located on the site of the historic San Antonio de Pala Mission, is known as a community school that incorporates local culture, emphasizes standards-based education and supports expanded learning experiences for all students. One of four schools in the Bonsall Union Elementary School District, Vivian Banks is the sole charter K-5 school. The setting is serene, with a magnificent view of snow-capped Palomar Mountain available most days and a rural setting that lends itself to a myriad of learning opportunities. The school partners with the adjacent Pala LearningCenter and Migrant Education Region IX personnel to provide tutoring for students with specific needs.

The school collaborates with the community on a regular basis through academic mentoring activities, assemblies, and grants specifically designed for the Pala Community. All students participate in computer literacy classes on a weekly basis in an up-to-date fully equipped computer lab. The mission at Vivian Banks is to provide an exciting, balanced academic program that allows students the opportunity to develop their interests, talents and abilities so they are prepared for future academic success, and a rich full life.
