Principal's Welcome

Dear VBCS Families:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Vivian Banks Charter School! I can’t tell you enough how excited I am to be back on campus and beginning a new school year! I am looking forward to working closely with our dedicated team of teachers and staff, committed parents, and eager students to make it a terrific year for all.

I would like to be the first to congratulate you on the outstanding work the entire Vivian Banks Learning Community has undoubtedly put forth over the past year.  I realize that this past year has been difficult and full of change for all. I commend you for rising to the challenge and your continued commitment to your student’s education and well-being.  I have no doubt that through continued collaboration, focus, and determination, we will work together to make this one of the best years yet.

Our school is a learning community that seeks success for each student as we strive to deepen our core values of: Respect, Responsibility and Kindness. We believe that children should want to come to school each day to learn new things about themselves and the world around them. We set high expectations and create a nurturing environment for all of our students. Students are the focus of our educational program and are expected to demonstrate the skills, abilities and potential that we know they possess.

Parents are valued partners in our educational system and are encouraged to visit the school, consult with the staff, and participate in school functions. We routinely hold parent workshops focusing on academics and parenting skills.  What parents value or believe defines what is important to their children.  When you value education and believe it is important, so will your children.  Our partnership with you in this shared value is critical.  Your child’s education is our priority!

Sincerely, Eric Kosch, Principal
